Japan bouldering

Holler!!! I got a chance to go bouldering this weekend in Japan! Woot whoot! The place that I went to is in Shikoku kochi. The place is called hinomiko. There are a few places in this area but I think we were in the more main area. I snagged a pic of the map from a guide book that my homie from the gym Makoto had. There are about 200 problems here, we played on 5 or 6 problems. We tried this v3 traverse(dyno for me) problem. This crimpy v3, this other I don't know what grade and this hand breaking crack problem and of course this crazy hard v7 that was kurayji!!! I think the rock is limestone so it was super slippery and polished so no good feet :( but I had a fun fun day bouldering! It's like a 30 minute drive from my uncles place, maybe 10 minute drive from my grandmothers place. The river here is crystal clear. I want to go fishing here next time!

Animal planet part ichi

So no trip is awesome without a little kawaii animals! So here we go! This little Boston terrier, she is the climbing gym mascot. Her name is oto(sound) she's always running around the gym looking for sweets so everytime you put your hand in a chalk bag, she's like food?!? You haz food??? And then if she really like you(which she lovvvved me, she sleeps on your lap) so cute!
Then there's mii-chan, that's my grandmothers cat. She is like worlds prettiest and softest cat. She feels like silk. I had to do a photo shoot with her squeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

Then there's my cousin who has a zoo going on in her house. She has 3 cats I'm her house, but she also feeds all sorts of weird things on her front porch. She said she sometimes gets raccoon dogs aka tanuki that come eat cat food... I told her to stop but she likes it. Weirdo!

Kiyaaaaa! Neko overload!!!!

Too much food!

So last few days I have been on an eating binge. My everything hurts from eating non stop/drinking too much beer. I don't want to leave this food paradise!!!
Grrrrrr! I still can't figure out how this app works, before I was able to load a photo and then eeeeek! And squeeee! About how delicious everything was, but now I guess you just have to enjoy the photos by themselves.

Culture time!

Since Japan is pottery headquarters, it's my duty to check out some of the amazing pottery going down! I need some inspiration to figure out what I want to do next. It's a little hard to get inspired here since they are very committed to keeping the traditional ceramic culture in Japan. But! I did find machida San, his stuff was really fun! He makes these bird shapes that are also whistles!!! And there was this super mini one!!! So cute! How does he make one that small?? And they all work! But not only does he make each one by hand, he also does this long glazing method and each bird has its own design! I am instant fan! He also made this commemorative one for the Hiroshima bombing, that one has a clock of when the bomb was dropped... Dark...

I also was able to check out Japanese dads workspace in the middle of the mountain. Hopefully this will give me some ideas to play around with when I get back home. Ohhhh I heard Obama won! Omedetou !!!
